HISTORY / ABOUT

NESguide.com launched in Jan 2007, a reference website for the entire NTSC catalog which featured one basic gameplay for each title. This channel filled gaps in available NES gameplay footage needed to complete the site.

The goal was to help demystify the catalog. We were mostly relying on an ancient text known as "Mike Etler's Rarity List" and screenshots to get a grip on what the catalog looked like as a whole. Youtube was new.

By Mid-2009, full set of gameplays had been uploaded here; captured in SD from the a/v outs on the side of an actual NES.

No unnatural tool-assisted footage, speedruns, or emulation. No commentary because capturing the original sound is more important.

Now using FPGA hardware to capture a new set in 4K.
